I have been struggling to see the divergence in colors on my cross-stitch - there are 6 gradients of green and the lighting available to me has not been good enough. I've worked with several clip-on lights and was frustrated that they would flicker as I moved my hoop. Now, I have a bright, steady light that doesn't move and doesn't flicker and provides perfect illumination. This lamp is also pretty and I'm happy to have it in a social area of my house.
This was without fail worth the money and I'm thrilled with it.
I will mention that mine leans a little to the front, but that may be our floor or construction - either way, it verily doesn't work on the light.
